The first thing we design, every time.
Liquid nitrogen, dry ice and a working chemistry laboratory are not things to be casual about. Everything below is built into the course before the first student walks in, and we will happily walk any parent or host institution through it in detail.
Thirty seats, hard cap — Sessions are capped so that instructors can see every pair of hands at the bench.
Eye protection and the right gloves — Required for every student in every lab block, with the glove material matched to what is being handled.
A clear line between bench and food — Nothing made with laboratory reagents or in laboratory glassware is ever tasted. Where a course includes a food-safe tasting step, it is prepared separately with food-grade materials, announced in advance, and never required of a student.
Hazards named, not hidden — Where a lab uses a solvent, a heat source or distillation glassware, the hazard is taught explicitly and the technique is demonstrated before any student runs it. No skin or health benefit is claimed for anything a student makes.
Full disclosure on take-home products — Everything that leaves with a student is labeled with its complete ingredient list, so families can check it against an allergy.
Taught by people from the field — Instructors and guest scientists come from clinical medicine, research, and industry formulation.
